About Dr. Lemke

 Dr. Kimberly Lemke is a winner of the prestigious 2020 Enterprising Women of the Year Award.  She is a licensed child, adolescent & adult clinical psychologist and a Certified Sleep Science Coach in private practice. In addition to the clinical specialties listed under the 'services' tab, she has expertise with a wide range of diagnoses and specializes in anxiety, depression, OCD, behavior change and parenting issues. Dr. Lemke is also trained in CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) which she uses in her work with individual clients as well as presentations for community and corporate clients on sleep. She empowers clients by utilizing research based methods that lead to positive change, and allow people to function at their highest potentials. Dr. Lemke earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology/Argosy University, Chicago Campus, in 2004. She has worked in multiple settings, including several hospitals, outpatient centers, private practices, and she was the director of a school for children with behavioral and emotional disorders. Dr. Lemke is also the author of the charming and treasured children's book, "I Just Don't Get My Parents' Rules!"


Dr. Lemke was appointed and served in the esteemed position as the Chair of Continuing Education for the Illinois Psychological Association. She was also appointed to the mental health board for a local township where she served as Secretary of The Mental Health Board and President of the Planning Committee for the Mental Health Board. She has written and delivered many professional workshops and is noted as a dynamic public speaker. She has been quoted in  numerous articles and has conducted multiple TV, radio and other media interviews. Dr. Lemke is often used as a consultant for organizations, corporations and schools when a solution is needed to resolve an issue or to help an organization improve an aspect of their environment that might be affecting morale and/or productivity.

Dr. Lemke has engaged in multiple volunteer activities, including her present position as a member of the Disaster Action Team and The Mental Health Disaster Team for The American Red Cross. She taught psychology at a local college and consults with area hospitals on mental health issues. Dr. Lemke is a consultant for postpartum depression groups and offers the concepts in “I Just Don’t Get My Parents’ Rules!” to decrease parents’ anxiety about parenting and setting rules as well as running parenting workshops and trainings. She is passionate about educating others on a wide array of psychological topics.


Dr. Lemke wrote and developed Watch O.U.T for Bullying, a school-based violence prevention/intervention program focused on decreasing bullying and teasing in schools. Her program was implemented in grades K–8 at a Chicago public school. In addition, she coauthored T.H.I.N.K. Bully Proof as a training protocol for organizational and workplace issues and bullying.

I am experienced in individual, couples, family, and group therapy with all ages. I often utilize play therapy for my work with younger children and a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure therapy and interpersonal therapy for adolescents and adults. I believe therapy to be a process, and I respect each of my patients for making the choice to begin taking steps towards their own personal goals."
